He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Abate and Antonia Abate; his wife Janet C. Abate; his son Gene; his daughter-in-law Charlene Abate; and his brothers, Joseph Abate (Marie), Nick Abate (Mary), Sam Abate, Frank Abate (Marie), Anthony Abate (Chris) and Angelo Abate.
He is survived by: his son Tod Abate (Lori) of North Brunswick; his grandchildren, Jacqueline and Jeffrey; his girlfriend Florence Vanderveer; and his sister-in-law Joan Abate.
