He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Josefa Periñan and Victor Nuñez Viola; and his sister Daira Echeverrea. He is survived by: his wife Elvia Rosa; his children, Javier Alfonso, Diana Elena (Stephen, Jr.) and Richard (Alissa); his siblings, Zilath Margarita Gonzalez and Victor Nuñez; his grandchildren, Alexa, Stephen, III and Katherine Elizabeth; and his stepgrandchild Alaina.
