He was predeceased by: his parents, William James and Helen Mae Gibbs (Monroe); his wife Norma Jean Gibbs; his brothers, Robert Gibbs, Edward Gibbs and Douglas DeAlmo; and his grandson Timothy Gibbs.
He is survived by: his children, William James Gibbs, III (Dawn), Dawn Lee Rude, Timothy J. Gibbs (Jean) and Tammy L. De Mott (Alvah, Sr.); and his siblings, Harold Gibbs, Dorothy Padgett and Barbara Darrohn. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
