He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Dempsey (Pinda). He is survived by: his children, James Dempsey of San Jose and Ann F. Dempsey of Robbinsville; and his siblings, Bernard "Bunny" Dempsey of Miramichi, Joan Sanborn of Arcata, Lourdes Copp of Ottowa and Lois Rioux of Orange.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 233 North Main St., Milltown, NJ 08850.
