He was predeceased by: his parents, John Valor and Maria Gemma Macarell (Nigro); his wife Ellen Mary (O'Leary); his sons, John David Jr. and James Joseph; and his sister Marilyn B. Corcoran.
He is survived by: his daughter Leslie Ann; his children-in-law, Christopher Blakely of Newton, NJ and Gailann Macarell of West Milford, NJ; his grandsons, Brian Patrick, Benjamin James Macarell and Christian Joseph Blakely; his nephew John Andrew Corcoran (Karen); and his nieces, Wendy Corcoran and Shawn Zimmerman. He is also survived by two great nieces, two great nephews and five great, great nieces.
