He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene R. McCarty, Sr. and Patricia J. McCarty (Wilson). He is survived by: his wife Debra A. McCarty (Gardner); his children, Craig R. McCarty and Heather L. McKelvie; his grandchildren, Annabelle, Roger, Jr. and Evelyn McKelvie; and his brother Michael McCarty.

Due to pandemic restrictions, private funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Newton Fire Department, 56 Woodside Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
