We are sad to announce that on February 16, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Eugene B. Conquy of Newton, New Jersey. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Bennet Conquy. He is survived by: his wife Helen Conquy; his children, Kevin Conquy, Lisa Conquy, James Greenfield, Kyle Conquy (Wenya) and Kurt Conquy (Heather); his sister Betty Ogden; and his close friends, Ken Benson and John Zamos. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame, or to the Lafayette Federated Church.

“As a young athlete growing up in Newton, my father would often relate stories of athletic excellence about Gene Conquy. Whenever I would see Gene I came away impressed with him not just as an athlete but as a caring, friendly and compassionate man. A few years ago I had the pleasure of introducing my son to Gene at a Sussex Miners baseball game. Gene was as kind and supportive of my son as he had been to me, He was a blessing to all who the honor to know him. May he rest in peace.”
