She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Narciso Mercado and Juanita Ortiz; her husband Luis Angel Soto of San Germán; her children, Leticia Soto, Israel Soto (Joyce) and Alex Soto (Alexa); her grandchildren, Luis Angel, Israel Jr., Thomas Paul, Gideon Juan and Lucia Ana; and her daughter Rosa Zelaya. She was also cherished by mother, and a loving and caring grandmother to her family.
