He was predeceased by: his son Kevin. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Meg; his grandchildren, Jessica and Mark; his brother Joseph; his sister-in-law Joan; and his daughter Bernadette Wanczyk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, and stjude.org in John's name.
