He was predeceased by: his parents, Fidelis Mathilda and Agnes Mathilda (Trapp); his son Mark; and his siblings, Vincent, Eugene, James, Marion Forenza and Ruth Ann.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn (Campbell); his siblings, Robert Maurer and Thomas Maurer; his children, Maureen Sant Anna (Michael), Joseph Maurer Jr. (Kathleen), Brian Maurer (Kim), Keith Maurer (Jennifer) and Kerri-Lynn Maurer; his grandchildren, Leanne, Lauren, Jamie, Joseph, Jennifer, Erin, Gabrielle, Gina, Caitlyn, Declan, Kyle and Colton; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Grayson, Sadie, Hallie, Nora, Adelyn, Hannah and Daniel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
