She was predeceased by: her father Malley Wathey; her husband Vernon; and her son Wendell Nicholson. She is survived by: her children, Leona Nicholson and Julio Nicholson; her grandchildren, Francesca Porter, Daniella DeNooijer, Renee Nicholson, Julius Nicholson, Aria Nicholson, Anjulia Nicholson, Nicole Avelina, Khalilah Wilson and Verdell Nicholson; and her son Alfonso Mingo. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
