He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Gilbert and Mary Ella Gilbert (Wood); his sons, Vernon and Christopher; and his siblings, Sarah Gilbert, Helen Silverman, Caroline Bozarth, Katherine Gilbert, Geraldine Gilbert, Evelyn Gilbert, Marie Gilbert, Gene Gilbert, Charles Gilbert, Clifford Gilbert, Raymond Gilbert, Jesse Gilbert, Virginia Young and Madeline Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Gilbert (Sawadzki); his daughter Lisa; his son-in-law Larry Goff of New Egypt; his granddaughters, Stephanie Goff of New Egypt and Alicia Goff of New Egypt; his great grandchild Skylar Goff; and his siblings, Vincent Gilbert, Judy Orts, Shirley Fite (Sam), Maryann Austin (Mike), Irene Gilbert and Betty Miller.
