Robert F. Edwards Obituary
Robert "Bob" F. Edwards Jr., age 50, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Born in Denville, NJ, Bob resided in the New Egypt area for most of his life. Bob graduated from Allentown High School in 1984 and coached little league from 1982 through 1993. He managed the Cubs and won 3 championships in the New Egypt Little League.
Bob umpired in Mercer County for well over 10 years and played in the APBA Jersey Central League from 1990 up until recent. He was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were that of the Boston Red Sox, the Miami Dolphins and Duke. Besides sports, Bob enjoyed cookouts, his summer parties, and making his mom's famous lasagna and stuffing.
He was a loving father and a friend to all that knew him and has created many memories and stories to last years to come. Bob started his company, First Choice Electronics in March 1998 and the company became successful over years with help from partner Deborah Falkowski who continues business today. Bob is predeceased by his parents, Robert F Sr. and Kathleen Edwards (Cella).
He is survived by his two daughters Jennifer Edwards and fiancée Bryan Kuhl of Flemington, NJ, Kelly Edwards of Germantown, MD, his two sons, Tyler and Joshua Edwards of North Hanover Twp., NJ. He is also survived by his brothers and their wives, Paul and Ivette Edwards of Lawrenceville, NJ and Steven and Stephanie Edwards of Sahuarita, AZ, The mother of his children, Christine VonSchmidt and Deborah Falkowski, cousin George Ormsby of Florida and close friends, Aaron Heller and the Stone Family.
Bob leaves behind nieces and nephews and many close friends. Funeral services for Bob will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 11:00 AM at the New Egypt United Methodist Church – Atkinson Hall, 38 North Main Street in New Egypt (Atkinson Hall is behind the church on Fort Avenue). Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery in New Egypt.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening, July 6 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (http://www.tilghmanfh.com) and again on Thursday morning at Atkinson Hall on Fort Avenue.
