He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Emery and Lavinia Emery (Hurley); his wife Gladys Emery; and his brothers, Joseph Emery and Richard Emery.

He is survived by: his son Donald Emery Jr. (Jamie) of Emmaus Pennsylvania; his stepsons, Gary Stimson, Shawn Stimson and Randy Stimson; his grandchildren, Collin, Carly, Kinsley, Dillon, Logan and Aubrey; and his siblings, Thomas Emery (Cindy) of New Egypt, Charlotte Lewis (Joe) of New Egypt and Shirley Ann Dobbins of Prattstville, Alabama. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.
