She was predeceased by: her husband Sgt. Peter Liapes; her parents, Charles Grand-Jean and Marie Weber Grand-Jean; and her siblings, Eleanor Carter, Robert Grand-Jean and Charles Grand-Jean.

She is survived by: her children, Peter Liapes (Catherine) of Metuchen and Leslie Kelso (Thomas) of New Brunswick; her sisters, Florence Schneider (William) of Monroe and Catherine Arico of Asbury Park; her grandchildren, Thomas, Joanna, Alexis and Leslie-Anne; and her great grandchildren, Richard, Thomas and Andrew. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
