He was predeceased by: his parents, Randall Alston and Dorothy Alston; his wife Dorothy Manning-Alston; his daughter Janet Medley; and his siblings, Vivian, Desiree, Sara, James, Edward and Leonard.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald "Sonny" Alston (Cat) of Union, NJ and Kimberly Fairley (Jimmy) of Neptune, NJ; his grandchildren, Teisha Brown, Shawn Brown, Reginald Taylor, Ryan Taylor and D'Jay Dawson; his great grandchildren, Anthony Schenck, Kymia Taylor and Ava Rae Dawson; his niece Margaret Walker; and his nephew Olen Gillespie Jr. (Anthony Alston).
