He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivien Weatherspoon (Hawkins) and Joseph Weatherspoon, Sr.; and his grandparents, Mary Hawkins and Sidney. He is survived by: his wife Valerie; his sister Mary Grace Wade (Kenneth); his nephews, Mark and Tye Wade; his niece Cheryl Wade; his siblings-in-law, James Henderson Jr. (Karen), David Henderson, Patrina Proctor (Samuel) and Iris Walter (Derrick); and his friend Raymond Bennett.
