“Without Mrs. Avakian (as my grade-school music teacher and mother of my longest standing friend, she will always be “Mrs. Avakian) I would never have loved music as I do; never have sung with a choir and never have devoured dolma in her kitchen. She was a wonderful, no-nonsense, positive person who was among the people who saved me from being a total waste of space! May she rest in peace.. God bless her and everybody named Avakian! Kevin Kennedy”
