She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Johnson and Pearl Johnson; and her brother James "Jimmy" Haymon. She is survived by: her husband Richard Earl Handy Sr.; her children, James, Raymond, Tomeke, Lakeycha, Richard Jr. and Sonia; her grandchildren, Ceyannah, Erikah, Noelle, Simone, Joshua, Jaydin, Jeremiah, Calista, James Jr. and Jabari (Lyeaf); her nieces, Idella, Renita and Eleshea; and her friends, Shirley Scott, Rosalind Mack, Equilla West and Vivian Brown. She is also survived by sister in laws, brother in laws, cousins, and aunts.
