He is survived by: his spouse Guida Rodrigues Paiva; his children, Tiago Paiva and Patricia Cunha (Daniel Cunha); his grandchildren, Brianna Cunha and Brandon Cunha; and his siblings, Jaime Pinto Paiva, Alda and Costa Mendes Ribeiro.

Due to the restrictions recently placed on occupancy in public spaces by the State of New Jersey in the ongoing efforts to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Alexandre's funeral arrangements are private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
