It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George William Johnson of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, born in Dover, New Jersey, who passed away on October 16, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Johnson and Edith Johnson; and his brother Clifford Watts Johnson. He is survived by: his sister Elizabeth Moss of Lexington, Virginia.; his wife Lois; his children, Bill Johnson (Sarah) of Morristown, Susan Cole (John) of Charlotte and Nancy Dougherty (Win) of Wayne; and his grandchildren, Will, Harris, Graham Johnson, Jack, Sam, Cady Cole, Field, Molly and Emily Dougherty.

“I was saddened to see the notice of George's death in the Knox 50 Year Club Bulletin. His call to me upon learning of my husband, Bill's, death meant so much to me. Bill and George worked together at Stern & Fields in Galesburg, as well as being really good friends at Knox. George and I had hoped to see each other at St. Lawrence U. while our mutual grandsons were there but the COVID pandemic prevented it. My sincere condolences to the family. George will be missed, but the fond memories remain”
