He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo James Winkel and Margaret Mary Winkel; his sisters, Mary (Henry 'Babe' O'Brien) and Gretchen (Curt O'Hara); and his nephew John O'Hara.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Winkel; his children, Jane Winkel, Susan Winkel, Leo James Winkel III (Melissa) and Heidi Winkel; his grandchildren, Anthony Sereni, Matthew Winkel, Jillian Winkel and Riley Winkel; and also Brien.
