He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Ann Carr (Nee Archangel); and his children, James Thomas Carr, Jr., Stephen Carr, Kathryn Mary Flanagan, Sandra Gibson, Michele Stillman and David Carr. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
