He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Pfeiffer and Alice Pfeiffer (McLaren); his sister Joan Karpowicz; his siblings-in-law, Josephine, Margaret and John Nelis; his nephew Johnny Nelis, Jr.; and his niece Eileen Nelis.
He is survived by: his wife Cathleen; his children, Joseph (Janice), Eileen Cannistraci (Salvatore), Karen Angelucci (Marc) and Matthew (Kimberly Carson); his grandchildren, Alecea (Brandon), Sean, Peter, Gabrielle, Mia, Emily, Gage, John and Annie; his great grandchild Travis; his sisters-in-law, Mary Nelis and Patricia Hynes; his stepgrandson Kevin Calvert (Tara); and also, Jaxon and Abby. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
