He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Patterson and Alva Patterson; and his brother Thomas Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his daughters, Katherine Patterson (John Makara) and Kristin Patterson-Maas; his sisters, Laura Mietzner, Linda Mariman and Marilyn Patterson; and his grandchildren, Erich Maas, Katharina Maas and Ruth Makara. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Army Emergency Relief, providing educational assistance to military members and their families.
