He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Carroll Stone Sr. and Amy Eloise Stone; and his brother Robert Stone. He is survived by: his wife Hattie Emma Hughes; his siblings, Patricia Bright of West Virginia and Daniel Ruben Stone; his children, Richard Carroll Stone III, Kathleen Mildred Stone, James Hughes Stone and Christopher Lewis Stone; his stepgrandchildren, Logic and Skylar Chernago; and also, Michael Hughes Riddleberger, Jonathan Richard Riddleberger, Nathan Schad Stone, Fionnuala Pearl Stone, Ian Schad Stone, Theodora Kathleen Stone, Devina Skye Stone and Arlo Stone.
