It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Ann Holowczak (Morristown, New Jersey), born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, who passed away on December 24, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her daughter Mary Ann Holowczak (Kugler); her parents, Elmer Kugler and Martha Kugler (Koch); her husband John; her children, John (Janet), Anne (Craig) and Richard (Yvette); her grandchildren, John, Emily, Nicholas, Christopher, Bradley and Ethan; and her brothers, Gordon Kugler (Jan) of San Diego, Elmer Dean Kugler (late Karen) and Don Kugler (Judy). She was also cherished by her many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of both Mary Ann's early contribution to virology, and her long tenure supporting researchers at CABM, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to the Rutgers University Foundation in support of the Holowczak Memorial Fund.
