He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Beers and Elsa Beers of Morristown, NJ.. He is survived by: his children, John Beers Jr. (Ami), James Beers (Mairen), Elizabeth Meiner (Douglas) and Sarah Roby (Eric); his grandchildren, Elsa, Michael, Griffin, Jake, Adam, Dylan, Emma, Marley and Samantha; his brother Jeffrey Beers; and his cousin Richard Nordling.
