He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Raymond Manahan Sr. (Mary) and Mary McNeil Manahan. He is survived by: his nephew Eric Manahan; his wife Joan Esposito; his sons, Jay and Scott; his children-in-law, Erin and Diane; his grandchildren, Caitlin, John IV, Ryan, Mary and Owen; and his siblings, Peter (Kent), Eileen, Jean, Patty and Dorothy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
