It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francis James Mertz (Morristown, New Jersey), born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Gail; and his children, Lynn (Levent), Chris (Nancy), Suzanne (Kurt), David (Jennifer), Amy (Jake) and Jonathan (Carol). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Atlantic Visiting Nurse Hospice to support home health aide services for families and caregivers in need.
