He was predeceased by: his parents, Earlie James Taborn and Mattie Taborn (Henderson); his wife Marjorie Taborn; and his siblings, Gloria Bass, Annie Ruth Taborn and Ernest Taborn (Boot).
He is survived by: his godson Jay Smith; his close friend Marlene Harris (Morristown); and also, Delia King, Ryanne King, Shekinah King, Jaylen of Washington, Dante Webber and Tyeesha Webber (US Army) of Newark, NJ. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
