He was predeceased by: his half-brother Charles McClellan; his siblings, Layfield Carter (Sammy), Pauline DeLaura, Dorothy Bennett and Patricia Carter; and his half-sisters, Sylvia Carter, Bertha Ammerman and Catherine Gahagan.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Robin J. Carter of Morris Plains, NJ and Diane Peterson (Barry) of Harrisburg; his brother William W. Carter, Jr.; his wife Nancy of Lewistown; and his sister Shirley Hayes of Edinboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
