It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Woods of Morris Plains, New Jersey, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his sons, Thomas John (Kathy Woods) and David Charles (Beth Woods); his wife Chris (Chris); his daughter-in-law Maureen Hayes; his grandchildren, Charlie Woods (Nicki Woods), Christopher Woods, Ellen Woods (Dan Halperin) and Jessie Woods Summers (Alec Summers); and his great grandchildren, Willy, Rory Woods and Sam Summers. He is also survived by extended family, dear friends, and neighbors.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Virgil's Church (250 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains, NJ 07950). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (225 S Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to either the Wounded Warriors Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org) or St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center (https://www.sthuberts.org.). Bud's legacy of love, patriotism, charity, and commitment will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
