He was predeceased by: his parents, Earle Britten and Angela Britten (Kivior); and his brother-in-law Joseph Cassano. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Eleanor Britten (Rennie) of Montvale; his sons, Douglas Britten (Rebecca) of Cumming, GA, Tyler Britten (Kathleen Ketcha) of Philadelphia and Timothy Britten (Kathleen) of Westfield; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Emma, Cooper, Lucas, Parker and Brooks; and his sister Bernice Cassano of Jersey City. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
