He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward, Sr. and Bridget; and his brother Edward Filmer. He is survived by: his wife Attracta; his sister-in-law Suzanna Filmer; and his nieces and nephews, Vivianne Burke (Shaun), Daniel Filmer (Jane), Steve Filmer (Sung Eau) and Joanna Duncan (George).
