She is survived by: her former husband Lawrence Skutch; her son David Skutch (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Sara and Lotte; her son Christopher Skutch (Emily); and her grandsons, Henry and Peter.
In 1967, with a Ford Foundation grant, Margaret built an open-classroom school in Stamford, The Early Learning Center.
