With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy A Smith (Montclair, New Jersey), who passed away on January 21, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James J. McMahon and Dorothy McMahon; and her sister Ellen. She is survived by: her husband Matthew M. Smith; her children, Matthew J. (Maria Drake), Ellen Mulligan (Robert) and Daniel (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Brian, Jenny, Megan, Madeline, Kelly and Robert; and her siblings, James McMahon, Michael McMahon and Kathleen Tully. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Breakthrough T1D (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund).
