It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Lane of Montclair, New Jersey, who passed away on February 28, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carl Lane to pay them a last tribute.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Walter Lane and Antoinette; his wife Carolyn Tierney Lane; his children, Philip, Elizabeth and David; his daughters-in-law, Ismet Tuna Pekin and Nancy Kwon; his grandsons, Kaya Robert, Han Pekin and Kelly Hunter; his sister Geraldine DeSantis (Nick DeSantis); his sister-in-law Carmella Pascale; and his brother Philip Alfred Lane. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in law.

Dr. Lane served as President of the Northern NJ chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

“I had the privilege of knowing Carl for at least 30 years. I danced with him at Felician graduation dinners, sat beside him during countless faculty meetings, watched him teach, & admired his scholarship & writing. When our offices were close to each other, we talked almost every day-- about his children, grandchildren, wife, & life. When my brother was injured, he asked his daughter to reach out to him. He was that sort of thoughtful friend. I will miss him so much.”
