He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Lucy Smith (Bolster); and his wife Marylou Smith (Bayles). He is survived by: his daughter Debra McGowan; his grandchildren, Ashley and Nicole; his great grandchildren, Caden, Liam and Connor; his sister Barbara Auenall-Manson (Jean); and his stepsister Shirley Berry.
Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Twp., PA Memorial donations may be made to the Montague Volunteer Fire Department, 274 Clove Rd, Montague, NJ 07827.
