Loretta Bongo Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta Bongo of Monroe Township, New Jersey, born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on March 24, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Tropiano and Catherine Tropiano; and her husband Richard Bongo. She is survived by: her children, Richard Bongo (Melissa) and Deborah Mazur (Mark); her grandchildren, Michelle Fenzlein, Richard Bongo, Danielle and Madison Mazur; and her siblings, Madeline Spadia, Margaret Romano, Eleanor Romano and Anthony "Duke" Tropiano. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lester Memorial (16 W Church St, Jamesburg, NJ 08831). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. James the Less Roman Catholic Church (36 Lincoln Ave, Jamesburg, NJ 08831). An entombment was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at the Hollywood Cemetery (1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083).
