He is survived by: his spouse Theodora Briggs Sweeney of Rossmoor; his children, Karen Abernethy Guin, David Keith Abernethy and Elizabeth Ann Darby (Abernethy); and his grandchildren, Caroline, Kate, Daniel and Jack. He is also survived by three children.
