She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Bender and Mary Gryzb Bender Kozma; and her stepfather Alexander Kozma. She is survived by: her husband Curtis Kazimir; her children, Noel Michalski (James) and Kevin Kazimir (Rebecca); her stepbrother Patrick Kozma; and her granddaughters, Grace, Emma and Adeline.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Laverne's name to St. Jude: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
