It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Katherine Walko of Monroe Township, New Jersey, born in Linden, New Jersey, who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Katherine has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

She was predeceased by: her husband Edward J. Walko, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Edward J. Walko, Jr. and Joanne Zelenke of Monroe Twp; and her grandchildren, Christine Zelenke (Albert Ac), Robert Zelenke and Krystyn Walko (Johnathan Matias). She is also survived by one great grandson, Torin Ac, and many other extended family.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM and on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. (205 Rhode Hall Rd, Monroe Township, NJ 08831). A burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Gertrude Cemetery (53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067).
