She was predeceased by: her husband Olen Eckeard, Sr.; her parents, Frances Bush Ames and Charles Stewart; her stepfather Robert Ames, Sr.; her siblings, Stella Ames Johnson, Mary Stewart Harden, Soathie Ellie Ames and Robert Steward; her granddaughter Genelle Eckeard; and her siblings-in-law, Joseph Bordley, Mary Brodley and Robin Ames.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia M. Brown (Kato) of Millville, NJ, Olen H. Eckeard, Jr. (Barbara) of Millville, NJ and Rodney O. Eckeard (Bernice) of Bridgeton, NJ; her siblings, Gloria Harris (Russell) of Baltimore, MD and Robert "Snap" Ames, Jr. (Lola) of Vineland, NJ; and her sisters-in-law, Hazel Logan of Bridgeton, NJ and Beatrice Bordley (Vaughn). She is also survived by eight granddaughters, one grandson, 26 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
