He is survived by: his wife Maria Melendez; his children, Benito Melindez, Jr of Jackson, Shirley Palmieri of Millstone Township and Lisa Melendez of Millstone Township; his siblings, Angel Santos of Toms River, Carmelo Melendez of Boston, Massachusetts, Hipolito Melendez of Millstone Township, Teodoro "Teddy" Santos of Lakewood and Maria Melendez of Toms River; and his grandson Jay Palmieri, Jr. of Millstone Township.
