He was predeceased by: his parents, Gopal Garai and Chameli Devi; and his wife Binda Prasad. He is survived by: his children, Pratima Prasad, Dr. Chitra Kumar, Dr. Sudhanshu Prasad and Dr. Niloo Prasad. He is also survived by his four children, one brother, one sister, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
