He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Matthews and May Matthews (Aldag); his wife Mary Elyn Matthews; his children, Roger C. Matthews, Jr. (Elena Matthews) and Dr. Mary Elizabeth Hunt (Steven Hunt); and his grandchildren, Roger, Alexis Matthews, Taylor and Ryan Hunt.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home - Mendham (8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham Borough, NJ 07945). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (8 W Main St, Mendham Township, NJ 07945). A burial was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the Mendham Hilltop Cemetery (18 Hilltop Rd, Mendham Borough, NJ 07945).
