“Cole Grove played football for Coach Merlino in 2010-2012 before moving to North Carolina. Cole’s greatest memory was of Gene taking he and Max to an Army football game,. 10 years later he still has the Army hat Gene bought him. Gene was giving, kind and taught the boys more then just football. Cole talks about Gene to this day. His positive impact was far reaching. We were shocked and saddened by the news and our prayers are with the entire family. He was truly one of a kind. The Grove family”
