He was predeceased by: his parents, N. Y. Bliss and Mary O'Connell Bliss; his son Joseph Andrew; and his siblings, Mary Devine and Robert Bliss.
He is survived by: his children, Paul (Christine), Daniel (Polly), Noreen (Timothy O'Donnell) and Michael (Eileen); his daughter-in-law Sara; his grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, Cayley Bliss, Madeline (Alex Sleasman), Cameron Bliss, Emily, Mary Margaret Bliss, Caroline, Jude, Tara O'Donnell, Ciaran, Maeve, Brendan Bliss, Amelia and Hope MacEvoy; his wife Maureen MacEvoy; and his son Sean (Julie MacEvoy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Clement's Church, Matawan, N.J., the Irish Repertory Theater in N.Y. City, or any of Joe's places of education.
