He was predeceased by: his parents, Santos Cartagena and Valentin Rodriguez; and his brother Jose A. Rodriguez Cartagena (Katherine Rodriguez). He is survived by: his children, David S. Rodriguez of Holmdel, Jocelyn Rodriguez (Harry Dones) of Roselle Park, Valentino Rodriguez of Union Beach, Jason Rodriguez of Raritan and Victor Michael Riley of Keyport; his siblings, Elsa I. Rodriguez Cartagena, Hilda I. Rodriguez Cartagena, Miguel A. Rodriguez Cartagena, Camilo Rodriguez Cartagena, Felix Rodriguez Cartagena and Marylin Rodriguez Cartagena; his grandchildren, Eliana Rodriguez, Jiselle (Rodriguez), Melissa, Anthony, Tino Dones and John Carmine Rodriguez; and his great grandchildren, Xavier, Naomi and Arya. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
